The rules for the YubiKey prize draw that runs alongside The Server Room game. Free to enter, no purchase necessary.
Last updated: [date — to confirm at launch]
Draft — pending final dates and legal sign-off. The launch date, weekly closing dates and the exact prize are placeholders below and must be confirmed before this draw goes live.
These terms govern entry to The Server Room prize draw. By entering, you confirm that you have read and accept them. The draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
The promoter is North Technology Group Ltd, trading as NorthMSP, a company registered in England & Wales (company no. 17047533), registered office Aizlewoods Mill, Nursery Street, Sheffield, England, S3 8GG (“we”, “us”).
The draw is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Yubico or any social network or platform.
There are four separate weekly prize draws, one drawn at the end of each of the first four weeks after the game goes public. Each weekly draw covers the valid entries received during that week (Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UK time).
Dates to confirm: the draw runs from [launch date] for four weeks, with weekly windows closing at 23:59 UK time on [Sunday dates]. Each weekly draw is made within [5] working days of its window closing.
Entry is open to individuals who, at the time of entry:
Employees, contractors and immediate families of North Technology Group Ltd are not eligible. We may verify eligibility and disqualify any entry we reasonably believe does not meet these terms or has been submitted fraudulently or through automated means.
To enter, play The Server Room and complete at least Room 6 (a “Clear”). At the end of your run, enter your work email in the in-game prize-draw form, confirm you are eligible, and accept these terms. That is the only way to enter; entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
Entries that are incomplete, ineligible, or submitted other than through the in-game form (including via the game’s debug mode, which voids the run) will not be counted.
Completing Room 6 (a Clear) gives you one entry in that week’s draw. Completing all ten rooms (an “Expert” clear) gives you two entries. You may enter each weekly draw only once per email address; if you qualify more than once in a week, your best result that week applies. Your chance of winning depends on the number of valid entries received that week.
The prize for each weekly draw is one YubiKey hardware security key (model and approximate value: [to confirm]). There are four prizes in total, one per weekly draw. There is no cash or other alternative, the prize is not transferable, and we may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable.
After each weekly window closes, one winner is selected at random from all valid entries for that week (entries weighted as set out in section 5), using a process that gives every entry an equal chance. We will contact the winner by email within [number] working days. A winner must respond within 14 days to claim the prize; if they do not, we may draw an alternative winner. We will arrange delivery of the prize to a UK address with the winner.
We use the email address you submit only to administer the draw and to contact you if you win. We keep draw entries only for as long as needed to run and verify the draw and then delete them. If you separately tick the optional marketing box, we will also use your email to send you occasional security tips and updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time — that consent is independent of the draw. Full details are in our Privacy Notice.
We may amend these terms, or suspend or cancel the draw, where reasonably necessary (for example for legal reasons or events outside our control). Our decisions on all matters relating to the draw are final, and we will not enter into correspondence about them. We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or not received for reasons outside our control.
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from the draw, are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions about the draw can be sent to hello@northmsp.co.uk.
